Bug Bounty Methodology, Discipline is hard, and Minecraft

Bug Bounty Methodology, Discipline is hard, and Minecraft

This week, I didn't work much, apart from publishing my bug bounty methodology.

Other than that, I traveled to Toulouse for a few days and mostly played a lot of Minecraft.

My methodology

I posted my bug bounty methodology this Monday: https://aituglo.com/guide/bug-bounty/

The goal of this guide is not to teach bug bounty, nor security in general. There are really good resources for that on the internet. It was more to share my point of view, how I work, and how I look for bugs.

It's also to show that you can find vulnerabilities and make a living without having any magic payload, or being super strong technically, and that with resilience and discipline, you can go pretty far.

The thing with this kind of methodology is that it changes and evolves over time, and you should not take it as gospel, especially these days when everything moves so fast.

Anyway, I hope you liked it, feel free to tell me if you want more content like this!

Discipline

Speaking of discipline, it's not always easy to keep. I have iron discipline in some areas like sport, but when it comes to work, I move around a lot.

There are periods where I want to grind, do 12 hours a day of hunting or pentest, and other periods where I don't even feel like touching the computer.

And it's ok, and normal, and I think a lot of us are in that situation. I've learned to accept it. It's still a bit scary because it's a fragile job, but if you're not in the momentum, it's pretty hard to get into it, at least for me.

I also know that after this kind of period, I come back stronger and I want to fully get back into it, and that's what's cool. So right now I'm taking advantage of it to chill a bit and work on other topics that interest me.

Minecraft

So, I picked up Minecraft again, the game from my childhood. I recently found a semi-RP server that's really cool, with objectives and ranks, which makes me want to play a lot.

It's been a week now since I started playing, and it's a real pleasure. I find it crazy how this kind of server is really good at making you want to stay. A vote system that gives rewards, the more time you spend on the server the more rewards you get. Ranks hard enough that it's interesting to farm, but not impossible.

It's wild how this kind of mechanism plays on the human brain and how it pulls us in. Super interesting from a psychological point of view.

And knowing me, I'm gonna play hard for 2 weeks, then get bored and move on to something else.

Anyway, have a great end of the week, and see you next time !
