AI agents everywhere, finding bugs, and Singapore

I'm back, and traveling on top of that. I always love traveling at the end of the year: the weather's nice and there aren't too many people around.

Right now, more and more AI agents are popping up, and we're starting to see what the future looks like. Pretty exciting stuff.

AI agents

Between Dot, Grok Bot, Duet, Hermes and others, we have more and more small agents we can talk to.

The difference with before is how simple they are to use. You have a chat you can talk to or call, but it can also take actions on a computer. And that's where everything changes.

Where before it was purely conversational, with a few actions like web searches, now there's a computer behind it that can handle a ton of different tasks.

Unfortunately in Europe we don't have access to Dot yet, but we still have access to other agents. And there's always good old Hermes, which is open source.

And honestly it's way more practical and enjoyable than before. Way less technical, super easy to use. You can manage all your work just by talking to a chat.

And as always, the more context it has, the more effective it gets. That's probably how things will keep going. We'll each have our own little army of agents that can work for us on every possible task.

Can't wait to see how it evolves because it really is super practical.

Finding bugs

I'm still finding just as many bugs, thanks to my friend GPT 5.6 Sol. Even though we still have quite a few issues and outages, with all the resets and the tricks to avoid too many Daybreak problems while we actually have Daybreak, it's pretty cool.

On the side, I also went back to using Opus 4.6 to help me on some PoCs, and it really is great as an assistant when you have a very specific task. Way fewer warnings too, which is nice.

It's still crazy how much AI lets us find bugs, and quality bugs at that. We're making the internet safer, even though it's also much easier for criminal entities to find 0days in the wild. It's always a race to see who patches first, but it's way simpler than before to get preauth RCEs in major frameworks or even languages, as we saw recently with PHP.

Either way, I'm keeping at it and it's fun, even if intellectually it's pretty empty. But it's lucrative so I'll keep doing it for a while.

While doing much more interesting things on the side.

Singapore

I arrived in Singapore yesterday for a 2-week trip in Asia. I'm staying a few days here before heading to Hong Kong, then Tokyo.

I'm so happy to be here, I love the vibe even though it's hot and humid. I'll be able to work quietly from cafes, just the way I like it.

Working from a cafe, Abao in Tokyo playlist in my ears and a good flat white. Nothing makes me happier when I'm traveling.

I have a lot of work on NookUp, my running app which is coming along nicely, with a few calls and features to ship.

All while finding bugs on the side and exploring the country. Here's the amazing view from my hotel, by the way.

The growth is pretty wild when you look back. A few years ago I was traveling in Asia with a backpack, barely $3,000 saved up, going from guest house to guest house. And now I can afford great hotels and travel without counting every dollar. I finally reached the freedom I dreamed of having a few years back when I went solo.

We forget sometimes because we live day to day, but looking back at how far you've come feels good. Sure, everything has changed and nothing is like it was at the start, but that's how it works. And we don't know what it'll look like in a few years.

On that note, I'm off to enjoy the incredible Asian food while walking around, and I'll see you next week.
