Ups and Downs, Hackyx, and Passive revenue

Table of contents

Last week, I was quite disappointed about my lack of findings these past weeks in bug bounty. I finally came back, and it's now better.

I also decided to see what I can do for my project Hackyx, and you'll see that it was not what I expected.

Ups and Downs

In this field, it's crazy how you can face very high ups and very high downs. But from a higher perspective, it's totally normal, and it's part of the process. Sometimes it's a lack of motivation, sometimes it's just that you don't want to work, or you just don't find anything.

When it happens, I usually accept it and continue, even if I don't want to. I stick to my plan and routine, such as doing sports, to avoid losing anything.

And for instance, this past week, I just grabbed some random private programs and started digging into them, and found a bunch of good bugs in them. As these programs were quite new, I still don't know if I will be scammed or even well paid, but it's still good to find bugs, and it started the momentum back.

I love that part of the process, knowing that it's hard, that you look like shit in front of your computer, looking at requests for hours, and then, after a while, you find a little quirk on them. Quite a funny job, isn't it?

Now, I'm back, waiting for a lot of bugs to be paid.

Hackyx

Last week, I also decided to start a form to help myself know what can be good for the community about this project. Because I love building in public, like this blog, and ask what is the best instead of just building useless features.

But I was really disappointed, because I received like 2 or 3 answers, and I don't really know why. Maybe the form wasn't good enough? I tried to make it very simple so that anyone can answer it in a minute, but even if some people saw it, they didn't answer it.

And for the few answers that I got, it wasn't the direction I expected for that project. But it's ok, it's part of the game. For those who still want to answer it, here it is: https://forms.gle/z7YPUAA3HHiNKwpv6

I will see if I continue working on it or not, but at the moment, I have lost motivation and will probably work on something else.

Passive revenue

It has always been the grail for a lot of people, me included. Being able to work on anything and never think about the money can be awesome, and it's my next goal.

How to achieve that? I see different methods to reach it. The first and hardest one is to make enough bounties to invest all in stocks and ETFs, and get dividends every year. But for that, you need a lot of money at first, or invest it every month for a long time. And you know, here we want to be self-sufficient before 30, otherwise it's not fun.

Another fun way is by building a side project, like a SAAS that can get a nice MRR ( Monthly Recurring Revenue ), something very funny, but you need to have the proper idea and find the perfect market. And I'm still thinking about this, as this is, in my opinion, the best option actually.

It's also possible through content creation nowadays, but it's not very well seen in our field, maybe because of a lot of pretty bad content creators, selling bad stuff and shitty courses, so I don't think it's very worthy in my case, or maybe create an OnlyFans, who knows?

So yeah, I'm still thinking about how I can achieve that in the near future, to be able to focus more on hunting for a long time on something, and doing research without thinking about money at all.
